A varied day, there, spin. At least you don't have any likelihood of a donkey - well interface.
Just a thought, if it's more about keeping them amused, how about putting some food in those ball things that people use for horses? The ones with holes in so the food drops out. Keeps them busy, hopefully stops them gorging too much and they are still getting fat.massive headache + feel sick....waning now but at 4pm i crawled into bed ready to call the knackerman ...i'd got bit stressed and over reacted so again i was relieved slightly that it was partly due to being under the weather
plan for day....nev coming tommoz to start DLP project...he needs trailer of shingle....i wanna use trailer later in week for feeding out parsnips SO....need to shift rather large heap of horse muck prior to all that
move coupla loads of muck then pop indoors to make some calls.....first it's to parsnip guy who's been supplying neighbour.....cept alarm bells ringing cos he no longer advertises on mart website....soon find out why....desperately short....i go on waiting list.......phone a local fodder company.....very nice....but go on waiting list.....call mart auctioneer cos i wanted to know how my stores did so as to know whether to take more in next sat......' i don't know off hand james i'm in middle of a field.. £76/hd i think'.....i was pleased with that.....quick browse on tinternet then phone goes...it's the auctioneer 'hi james i was wrong about your lambs they didn't make £76 ...they made £86'......just wondering if they got my fat lambs confused with stores though
back out side admiral + K reports coupla store lamb snot....it's a warning they're outta grub......nothing else for it but to nick a horse paddock off strawbs to buy me a few days.....quick bitta leccy fence round....then move....look a treat TBH
back on the muck.....buggers have been dumping it on grass next to pad to save a step with barrow....mustn't be to cross cos both elderly and ones had heart attack...but can't get some of it... forklift sinks and nearly get stuck trying to drag it back onto pad.... also getting squidgy around muckheap in field
back to my feeding problems .....now i've enough straw / hay/grain and charlies pea straw so nothing'll starve....thats not the problem......it's keeping the fekkers amused so they don't go 'walkies'
As if poor Spin has not enough to do!!! Be aware there might be a misshaped parsnip flying your way!Just a thought, if it's more about keeping them amused, how about putting some food in those ball things that people use for horses? Treat balls are fine until they roll under the fence and you end up with stroppy livestock having a toddler tantrum.Just a thought, if it's more about keeping them amused, how about putting some food in those ball things that people use for horses? Surely there is a pit somewhere on the farm that one uses for such sad occasions?tbf i was thinking of 'dragons den' with it.....my other idea was a sorta burial at sea device that could be fitted to a wheelie bin for pet burials
All @spin cycle has to do is put them on the wrong side of the fence (where all the sheep are already) to begin with, then when the treat ball rolls under the fence they put themselves back in the field, what's not to like?Treat balls are fine until they roll under the fence and you end up with stroppy livestock having a toddler tantrum.
On the other hand they could be a good aid to developing the Norfolk Hurdlers' jumping technique so you may be onto something there
Well done see sheep do pay!!! How many horses/points do you have on Spin Towers? they pay well BUT the crap you have to put up with takes the gloss of it for me. Still if you can make it work all the best to youthank you for all the 'suggestions' ....i think
tuesday
digger arrived ...nev arrived........made a really good start on DLP soakaway
got store lambs in....dozen out and to abattoir
wednesday
another eclectic day fettlin horses + sheep....plus flittin to nev to keep him in shingle.....good job i got another lorry load cos he's used best part of ten tonne.....ground is surprisingly dry......only downside is it shows up the fencing at the bottom of the garden.....posts rotted and only been in ten years
lunchtime + post brought ...nice cheque from abbatoir.....and the bank statement which i opened in dread....normally i look at the balance and rush off to the cheque drawer to see what i've got....but not today....rosiest finances in 5 years.....mind you i have been working/scheming my arse off....but there've been times i've done that and still been in the poo.....i looked up from the statement smiling....'blimey' said the admiral 'not seen you do that in a while'.....'don't get to excited thats your christmas present' says i
still massively behind with stuff ....justa gotta keep pluggin away
That's a thing to make your readership smile too, the Hurdlers are more than paying their way.thank you for all the 'suggestions' ....i think

Be sure to treat yourself to something nice. Even though you're your own boss you should still get a performance bonus.
