Been sent these today. They're off a 22 plate lwb T7. Must be a mod. CNH obviously addressing the issue. I'd like to ask the question to Case to see if I can have it retro fitted as its a problem they have unfortunately created. Thought it may be of interest to some on here.

Can you give a bit of a description as to what has been done please?

So you would have to remove the entire lower panel to get to the problem area, timely and awkward, whereas with the mod you've got user friendly thumb screws to get to it much more easily and conveniently.

Personally think it would be cleaned more if it were like that than having to take off the entire panel.

Diesel isn't exactly easy to burn on an open flame, so the problem on these fires is probably the dpf/exhaust overheating and burning off anything that has been accumulated around exhaust/dpf area. I get the idea behind the dpf, but the dpf itself is a piece of crap.

On the other hand, maybe there's enough pressure in the exhaust system to get the diesel required for cleaning to burn uncontrollably hot.

I have recently heard of two tractors catching fire, and the cause is thought to be to doing with some thing happening when the particulates are being burnt off.The makes of tractor were a Case and a New Holland ( yes I know they are basically the same tractors).
Has the above been known to happen on other makes of tractors.
I had one tra tor 7 years ago get completely destroyed because of a bird's nest. Recently my TS120 had a fire that started around the muffler. I figure a Deffsensor went bad. Anyone else have this kind of issue?

Since starting this thread I wonder how many other newish tractors have caught fire as yours has and others. The trouble is know doubt other owners have had newish tractors catch fire but as many will not belong to TFF we will never know.

Sounds like lack of care with equipment hygiene & letting straw / dust build up around the engine

we have a lot hotter / drier climate than the UK & I’ve never heard of a tractor or other farm equipment catching fire due to a regen

earlier Ford Ranger utes DID have a problem though, if driven through stubble or dry grass . . .
