Digestate Lagoon Odour

Can anyone living close to a digestate lagoon tell me how much odour is to be expected within say 200 metres and further away?

Does it give off an overpowering stench close by?

The lagoons will be covered with a floating top.

Digestate stored in a tower seems to give off minimal odour from my little experience of nosing about various AD plants.

In fact, I can't think of an AD plant I have been to that has a lagoon per se.

Might be a better question to lodge in the Renewables forum?

The AD plant here has 3 lagoons, all with floating tops. Only time you really notice the smell is when it's being pumped out or agitated, or on damp, dewy foggy mornings.

There is a tank at work, has a floating lid, full of digestate and it hardly smells at all.

Even when they're applying it it's not bad.
