Please vote as to whether you are in favour or not and give a few reasons why you made your choice if you wish underneath. Apologies and please ignore if it's been done already, I just thought it would be interesting as despite the consultation being open until the 2nd Feb (see Ad in front page of last weeks Farmers Weekly) the NFU (growers route for responses according to the ad) have stopped taking feedback.

I say yes. They are a good idea. The world is moving forward. I sell most of the grain via apps get haulage notes etc via apps why not do the passport the same way. Save me having to find a working pen. Also it should mean I get weights and sample results back quicker.

The big caveat is it has to be an efficient system that’s cost effective. Seems like the quoted costs are ridiculous and the system is being over complicated. If someone with a some send designs it then it should be fine.

I really don’t think it’s needed to get results back quicker, some manage already.

Do you think that it would be likely that someone competent would be given the job? Personally doubtful.

The odds are continually stacked against farmers.

Any changes just funnel things further in the same direction because so much of the power is held by third parties.

On top of that, farmers own representatives care more about self interest are happy to give farmers collective power away for their personal benefit.

Digital passports is just another step in the continual process of increased control over the industry. No different than turkeys voting for Christmas.

It makes you wonder who will have access to the data we are giving (as in up to date movement records and crop types and varieties that doesn’t currently exist). Are you listening ahdb?

What do they offer the farmer? Nothing. Just more benefit for those wishing to control the market.

Precisely this.

A deal with the devil will never work out well no matter what is being offered because what is taken will exceed that.

From the start it’s always going to be a one sided deal. If it wasn’t…..they wouldn’t be interested in doing it.

Yes, I’ve even had a load rejected while it was still sat in my yard, can’t get better than that!!
It’s just yet another data grab by the back door.
We’re soon going to need an app to take a shite at this rate.
Heard of load. Being rejected while truck was being re loaded on same farm with 2nd load of that Day

Often fail to get a phone signal in yard so that would not help matters and then no doubt the info could be used by red tractor to check grain has come out of approved store and not from elsewhere.I’m glad I’m at the age I am and not starting out with the continual bullying and being told what to do at our expense
