Discreet Thermal Fox and Badger Control

Hi, I live in Nottinghamshire, and can also travel to Derbyshire, Leicestershire, South Yorkshire, parts of Cheshire and Staffordshire.

I can support with Natural England applications for the culling of Badgers in high risk and new low risk TB areas.

I use thermal equipment to discretely control pest and vermin species without the disruption and unessary attention of other less discreet alternatives such as traditional lamps and infrared.

I am fully insured for voluntary work, no payment accepted.

Please drop me a private message if interested.

Haven't read the whole document, but can it really be true that commonsense prevails at last?

To a certain extent yes, the trial areas have proven successful, regardless of the anti retort.

The EOI and application process is relatively straight forwards to.

If the topic genuinely interests you then it is worth reading all the consultation documentation and responses as well. Some of the concerns raised demonstrate the lack of any knowledge by the respondents of what already goes on outside of the towns they likely live in.

Much like the grey squirrel tail bounty years ago. There is even the suggestion of a £50 bounty, although I’d not be interested in that it could make some landowners a nice little side income

you might not want to use your name as your 'user name' though:)

Been a member 3 years and never figured out how to change it. I also got to the point of trying to educate antis rather than hiding from them.

Fox / Badger / deer they all have no predators and left unmanaged the consequences are pretty high. Half the antis I’ve no idea how many herds are destroyed each year because of a rediculous testing regime which almost guarantees 1 or 2 marginal findings in a herd of 100.

It would seem a little odd to have a permission and shooting section of the forum, if you can’t discuss the topic within the legal framework that exists.

I’m surprised a little that it is such a taboo subject on an agricultural forum.

There are companies that advertised pest and vermin control service publicly, the are business that advertised sporting opportunities publicly which is just for fun, not for preservation of livelihood.

Admin can delete if they like :)

I suspect you could just start up again under a different name, but not sure if multiple identities are allowed. I've always rather fancied doing that and having an arguement with myself!

Posting on here can be a useful way of getting a message across to 'the authorities' as all sorts read what goes on here. You will get quizzical and critical replies as well because farmers are, by nature, a cynical suspicious lot (for good reason). But don't let that put you off. If you can sit down with a farmer and help make an application, I think that would be good. Often it is a case of presenting a good case countering the objections before they arise.

There was an interesting thread on the raven cull and the possibility of getting licences where they are a problem. I have long been an advocate of applying for licences as the attitide of the authorities is "No one is applying for licences, so there cannot be a problem". Another source commented, "Parliament in it's wisdom has included the provision for licences to be issued. If they didn't want them to be issued, they wouldn't have included that in the Act".

BTW, I do not own cattle and I'm in Scotland. I just believe in commonsense! "Civilisation is measured by the people's laws and how they are administered".

I realise the masses that can read these forums, I already work with a number of farmers hence have a degree of knowledge of the process.

The same principle can be applied to cormorants and heron on fisheries... and if you really want to rock the boat birds of prey on moorlands.

Protection is there for a very good reason, and sometimes it works to well. These licenses exist as a form of common sense, and it’s amazing how many people are unaware of the options available to them, and how simple they are to apply providing all other options have been attempted.

My primary activity is actually fox control, typically at pig and sheep farms, but frankly on any land that harbours wildlife whether that be wild ground nesting birds or game shoots. I’m pretty successful at it, thermal technology opens up a whole new world... but no matter how on top of it you think you are, they will keep coming.
