We have one near here who hires a machine out. They are in south west but a different country!

Rent a scabbler but take out most of the cutters except where you want the grooves. You will need a bag full of appropriate sized washers to act as spacers. Not as good as valmot or a diamond groover but better than nothing.

We used a scrabbler. We then decided to do the job properly and got it grooved. Massive difference compared to what we had. If I could do it again I'd just get it grooved from the off and have done with it.
