.....sadly the same conversation came up Thurs night in the watering hole . I mentioned the difficulties concerning the weatherand the concensus was " don't you farmers ever get fed up with complaining , ite either the weather the prices or the Gvt"

"Your so wrong "I said " it's not either the weather ,the prices or the Gvt ...its all three at the same time "

..but I am conscious we are forever complaining .....and I try not too ,
We have healthy livestock plenty of grass and the prospect of good weather after Tuesday this week .....now then ...if only fuel wasn't so dear 🙂🙂

The "leaders" of our industry are not reaching out and getting the news out to the populace. The only people actually getting the message out to a wide audience are Jeremy Clarkson & Kaleb Cooper they talk profit ? and loss. My friends often mention them in discussion on matters farming but NEVER mention the Nfu or CLA.Perhaps we only have ourselves to blame ??

I do some work with insurance companies in claims investigations and so speak to both farmers and the public. I am regularly quite shocked at the negative and often hostile view that people have of farmers. Many seem to think that farmers are just *** nuisances clogging up the roads with their equipment and are paid vast amounts to provide free parks where they can take their dogs.

The general public have absolutly no idea , when talking about the rain one said why dont you harvest on a dry day , as if harvest was a one day a year event:cry:
Another idiot said to me well you have a grain dryer dont you ? AS if flicking a switch on for a couple of hours would do the trick . when i explaned that the dryer would need to be on for a couple of months burning diesel and electricity costing thousands, hefinaly twigged the problem.

Again the public no nothing of farming because programs like country file have no farming in them

There has been a culture of farmer bashing for some time... the daily message from all media outlets seems to be farmers are bad people doing bad things, destroying the environment, producing methane, bad bad bad.
