So as not to hijack the other thread.
I prefer to leave tails & testicles on early lambs (before 1st March) I feel they grow a little quicker & less chance of picking up bugs if housed or grazing muddy fields. Also handy marker if keeping any ewe lambs back (tail those intial selection at birth.)
Later lambs I do castrate & tail, because they look nicer, easier to keep clean & of course anything with testicles can be nuisance after the 20th of July when the ewes may start to become fertile.
