Hello, I work for a documentary film company called Landmark Films. We are actually based in Oxford, England and make documentaries for BBC, ITV1, Channel 4 and Sky1. We are known for making access-led, intelligent, distinctive well crafted, warm and funny documentaries about human stories, different places and institutions. Our latest documentary series was Brain Doctors for BBC2, a three part series on the neurology department at the John Radcliffe Hospital and Married to the Job which went out on ITV1. This was a three part series on senior female police detectives and how they juggle a tough job with their home life. We also recently made a single called 'Fox Wars' which looked at how urban foxes are affected the uK.
We are currently making a film about cats for the BBC. We would like to speak to people who are experiencing issues with cats. It seems the number of ferals, semi-ferals and strays is rising in the UK. I am speaking to gardeners and birdlovers who are experiencing problems caused by either domestic or feral cats affecting British wildlife. I wanted to find out if anybody in your community is experiencing any problems with feral cats communities and would be willing to have a chat with me? I know that unfortunately they carry a disease which can kill sheep and therefore those encouraging cats around farms may be risking the livestock on the premises.
All correspondence will be dealt with in complete confidence and by contacting us you are not making a commitment to take part in the final programme - at this stage, it's just research. Please feel free to contact me on the details below.
Kind Regards,
Jessica Howe
