Does he have any livestock on these farms or are they pure arable. I think his profit to sub ratio is very interesting, looks as if he would be making a 2 million pound loss without sub.

He hasn't really made a loss though has he!
He's spent a fortune on improving the assets he's acquired
so going forward they will be profitable without subsidy.

Yes. They have a lot of sheep, and are going into Highlanders in a big way I believe. Been buying mule ewe lambs and selling as shearlings I think too.

So no, you're unlikely to see them paying daft money at Lanark Texel sale.

Just a thought though.
Reportedly made his first farming profit £747k. but Hoovers up 2.8 million subsidy ( did Ya get the Pun ?). He has 2x anaerobic digesters which brought in massive profit

I reckon the farm is huge loss making but he is running a commercial business , not a farm

Lesson for us all
How is his Farming losses treated we wonder ?
Tax reducing outfit for the other businesses maybe alledgely???

Taxed for given your life to the country that's disgusting surely there should be some discretion in those circumstances I hope today's war hero's don't get penilised in the same way
It was well deserved after the way the british aristocracy squandered the lives of millions of squaddies, ordering them over the top in pointless attacks to gain a few yards.
They could never tell whose bullet got the officers.

Well, at least he is buying land at market value, spending money which he made through his
inventions. He hasn't "aqquired" the land through being best mate with a Norman conqueror, which
is how a large proportion of feudal estates came to be owned.
No one should be allowed to buy or own that much. it couldnt happen in france or any other country.
