Religion was the former means of societal control. It failed from the 1960's on. It took a while fro tehm to do it but over the last 20 years the elites have managed to create 2 new means of societal control, the PC theory and climate change theory. These are both now used to oppress the governed.

I don’t who the elite are now. The only political party in the UK that was able to change the status quo was the Labour party by giving the working man something for his vote ( at least after the second world war ) . However the Conservatives have taken this and ran with it. Control now is more about picking sections of society to hate which blinds people to what is really going on. Which is that they are getting poorer in relative terms because they are making a very small section of society incredibly rich.

A huge percentage of hard working " working class" voters have what the media would call " right wing " views on law and order, defence and immigration and plenty of what the media call right wing voters would support " proper public services and benefits for those that deserve them.
That well know working class paper the sun supports strong law and order, defence and controlled immigration. Whereas the middle class left wing guardian supports any but those I mentioned .

Aspiring Peasants, yes i can talk from bitter personal experience, about the "travellers" or what ever they care to go by? We here in essex not far from basildon had for a few years one of the biggest "camp" of them in the UK, yes they are the lowest of the low why? because of some of the things that happened here, examples, making a nice lady who we knew well, who happend to work/serve in the local post office, her life hell? Acting and behahaving worse than animals, example, my mother was sitting in her car outside our local shop, and a few of them pulled their car sideways between my mothers car and the other car, so their car was half on the road and half on the path? When my mother talked to them about this, she was met with a torrant of foul language and intimidation? Yes i dont like them

That's a terrible situation that a malicious subculture among any group is getting away with things like this. Whatever weakness in Law that can't stop yobs of any source needs to be sorted out.

There's the nub, I suppose. I've only met Roma, whose families are part of the local pattern. I don't know anything first hand about other Travellers.

I don't trust any of the Murdoch or formerly Barclay press, and take what's in other newspapers with a large pinch of salt unless the copy is from scrupulous journalism. If you want to be manipulated, then carry on reading the Murdoch and Barclay rags. They're poisonous to British people.

I've not watched any TV news since 2017 not bought a national paper ever, used to read the western daily press years ago then just a Saturday for the farming section but gave that up at least five years ago. Plenty of places to access more accurate info .

I do dip into the very local papers for old times sake, but am much more sceptical now of News material in general. Learning more about the machinations of enemy states, and greedy money organisations in their attempts to undermine democracy, and foment discord, plus spotting the "playbooks" and tone of superficially innocuous communications is, sadly, too necessary.

(Sorry for blimbling. I can legitimately blame it on lambing time.)

Just for interest, what sources would you consider to be factual in this case? If presented with some statistical facts, would you question their bias, or accept them as faithful enough to inform an opinion?
