Dominator 108sl 70% tank warning

Ongoing niggle I've had for a few years is that this light remains lit after emptying the tank and goes off of it's own accord at an indeterminate time. Changed the tank sensor and the relay with no resolution of the problem. Any input appreciated.

Had a similar thing many years back with a 98 classic, can't remember if it was a sticking switch inside due to dampness or the the material on the sensor pad not letting the air back in quick enough to let the front pop out, possibly both, hope it's of some help, it's really annoying when it stays on more than it should.

Complete new switch and pad unit already fitted

Does the new pad unit separate to allow access to the switch inside? Maybe try a thin washer at the bottom to allow an air space to get the switch to return properly, advice from the engineer at the time, although it may be a faulty unit but unlikely

I'm also on a 108sl, I think the electrics tend to get weird as they age, mine started off the season with both 70 & 100% dash lights coming on together, after 3 days its now working as it should, haven't touched anything :scratchhead:
Last year I did the last day with the buzzer going all the while for some strange reason, seems to have sorted itself over winter
still it is on its 27th harvest and had multiple rat attacks on the wiring over the years

All my wiring is now encased in steel flexi conduit to prevent rat attack. Had the tank level prob for many years previous to that though.
