The “go back” comment was along the lines of go and help your country move forward into a modern world.

Except he didn't say that did he? Below is what he actually tweeted to American born citizens.

So interesting to see “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly.and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how..it is done. These places need your help badly, you can’t leave fast enough. I’m sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangement

I hadn’t read the tweet above though I must be more blind than I realised because I don’t see ‘racist’ in it, but then I am pink, with a bit of colour from sunburn.

What I did see and hear is a bit on TV just before a news item that had clearly not understood what was said in the clip aired only 5? minutes previously.

Really what do you expect of 4 ‘Democrats’ with 2 attributes we are not allowed to mention in this belated 1984 when they get a chance to lambast a Republican...... rhetorical.

The comments he made were utterly ridiculous and utterly indefensible and that is all there is to say about it. Trump's ancestry is foreign as well in common with a lot of Americans who have a wide variety of differing ancestries so it is a bit rich for him to tell anyone to 'go back to their country'.

America is supposed to one nation united under God, indivisible and with justice and equality for all Americans. You would think that America would have had it's fill of hard-line systemic racism given the growing pains it went through over the last 100+ years.

For people to retort with: 'just business as normal, nothing to see here' surely confirms to all of us that American politics has indeed turned into a foul morass containing nothing more than hatred and division.

To a great extent I agree but I am not fully aware of the actions or statements by the four which prompted all this. I still think that the race card is well overplayed in many cases and if Trump was making a plea for "National unity or get out" I can understand his point of view but not his precise handling of the matter..

Post #622, about half a dozen above this one, has the entire text of his Twitter message.

He told them to go back.
Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.

It reads like a question and he just forgot the ?
and if they come from the USA then that's what he thinks needs fixing
not that I give a sh!t, hang the bloke out to dry for all I care

Go back AND come back and show us how good your policies are .. quite the difference for those who can read and have at least one brain cell.

Okay then, why don’t you name “the totally crime infested places from which they came” for us? The ones he compares to the US in highly derogatory terms, so clearly that isn’t it.

And lighten up on the insults - it’s not helping your argument.

They do come from the USA, but he clearly implies they don’t, given his comparison earlier in the quote.

He has form for that though, doesn’t he? Remember the whole Obama birth certificate issue?
