Dont get the modern comprehensive system of learning

There seems to be little discipline
Wheres the homework?
No books brought home (no reference books nothing?)
No projects
Sport is rubbish
Sloppy poor work submitted
Obsession with integration to the detriment of the whole class

No system to catch up? What is happening with the massive loss of education this year? Not seeing any extra work or demands.

So who are these pupils getting all these A stars? They must be outstanding.

Honestly the attitude of my eldest. There is no respect for the teachers. No student effort whatsoever

Not impressed by what he tells me what goes on. Makes my 1980s education look blinkin marvellous. We had so much fun, laughs and made long term relationships with so many. It was strict, well run and there was little messing.

Im finding it hard to get my head around.

My eldest started at high school in september and she is inundated with homework and tests to the point its far to much in my view so I have written to the head of year about it. Theres at the very least 1 hour per night, sometimes it takes her 2 hours. I've looked at it and its not easy either. Far more advanced than what I was learning at her age. I am wondering if the reply I get will be along the lines that they are trying to make up for the lost 6 months february to July? Even though her primary school were brilliant sending stuff out every day and marking it so we had feedback.

My 5 year old could teach me English! He was explaining what a digraph was the other night, I’d never ever heard of it 🤦‍♂️😂.
I think his school does an excellent job, they are well ahead of anything I did at his age in both maths and English. Get homework and books to read every couple of days along with online feedback from his teacher.
