Having just come back from my first ever steam rally at Welland. I am full of praise for a fantastic day , working plant, trucks tractor pulling it was all captivating and entertaining and the people very friendly. one of the things that really floats my boat are classic tractors from the ford 7000 era to late 90s 2000, of which there was not a huge amount, my question is I was thinking of going to Dorset steam rally , which is a long way from me , has anybody been and are there a lot of classic tractors there or should I go to Newark?

Huge event.
Very hot usually set on Rolling Arable land .
Everything goes on there ,stands ,exhibitions, tractor pulling ,steam demos, fairs ,events , working display ,construction agri the lot.
Traveller paradise allegedly also.

The Steam Rally is massive, lots of stuff to see if you like old fashioned machinery and country crafts, working and static demonstrations.

About a quarter of the site is stands of folk selling stuff off a stall.

Hopefully they will change this year back to the security and toilet contractors prior to last year's abortion of a fair.

Not enough loos which were not cleaned properly.

Security allowed a group of lads tooled up with knives on site who then went round stealing stuff from the show and the caravans camping on the site.

The prices last year were extortionate. I guess they though everyone would pay more seeing as it was their 50th anniversary....

Have you taken any land out of production from last autumn?
