Ours went down to 12, but never used it at that. usually ploughed at 16 with furrow splitters on the share. the experts will tell you that you need a shorter share so it leaves a bit of soil uncut so it acts like a hinge.

Had a DP100 with the original DD boards, we ran it with 12” furrows for years then went to 14”. 12” did a lot nicer job especially on heavy ground.

Did you run it with the same shares and how do the DD boards compare to the older ucn/ransome boards do you know?
Thanks

I didn’t think the dd turned it over enough. Could sometimes leave the furrow a bit open on heavy land. Agri hire sell some extensions to fit to the end of the board, never tried them but might help.

Yes ran it with same shares.
Used ucn boards before that which we used to find the dirt would sometimes build up on which never happened with the DD boards!
Another good thing with the DD boards and narrow single bolt points was when the shares/wings were getting worn and the points were good it would go in anything even if the ground was like concrete in fact we occasionally stopped for fear of damaging the plough!
