Hi

Any forum members using a Dragon D10 biomass boiler?

Looking for a 100 Kwh system, and decent heat store, we will be buring our waste card board pallets etc, and anticipate buying in timber pulp

Would be keen to hear how others get on with the smaller Dragon D10

Hi zector-man, we too would advise more well established and creditable systems, we only ever fit ETA boilers- world renowned Austrian Biomass manufacturer with the leading UK market share of 30%. Feel free to give us a shout if you would like more information.

We have a D20
It's bigger capacity allows bigger less frequent loading, or less cutting of cordwood.
Speak to the biomass centre & they will tell you where you can see Dragons in action

But can you chuck half pallets and old boxes straight in, or does it involve buying fuel?

can be done with lots of different models. The key point is finding the best unit for his use. bigger you go bigger the buffer tank and project costs but less time stoking.

personally, running two units on two separate premises I wouldd go bigger, spend a bit more than fire up a few times a week rather than daily. daily stoking is a massive chain around the gonads!

A long established boiler maker suggested we had a smaller boiler. This meant manual loading.
Then we saw a Dragon B20 being loaded with an IBC full of wood, straight in on the pallet tines, done. We instantly knew we needed a physically bigger boiler. Likewise to empty it we have a round bottomed scoop, in with the Manitou & 95 % of the ash is out instantly. No point in making work if there are ways to avoid it

@zetor-man we install Froling Biomass again a quality Austrian product who now also produce a biomass CHP plant. Biggest exporter from Austria with Eta being next but 135 million in sales behind Froling. If you would like any information on any boilers just drop me a PM.
