we have an Alfa 10unit parlour, with ACRs, nothing too fancy about it. It is one of the v few parlours i know of that does not have a Wash Milk handle installed somewhere. This is good, one less handle to be turning to operate the parlour.

Our parlour has a double diaphram milk pump, and currently the only way to get all the water out of the milk line is via flushing it, ie you put on 3 units and then leave the milking parlour pit to put the milk pipe in the tank, as it its the first of the milk that flushes the water from the milk line.

My question> Has anyone got a method of draining all the water from milking machine which has a diaphram milk pump installed. I would like to move to the position where all the water can be drained when rinsing the machine out. It would mean you could put the pipe in the tank and not have to leave the parlour pit again.

Its a good few years ago I used to milk in a parlour with an electric milk pump. The electric milk pump was under the milk Jar at the top of the pit. there was a bleed screw immediately before the electric milk pump and when you opened that you could leave all the water out of the milk line and then you could put the pipe in the milk tank when starting the machine, v handy.

Any ideas ?
