Drilling a strainer

Just wondering what is the best way to do this. Can you get a long auger bit that goes all the way through? Or is there some other kind? Tried googling "strainer hole" and got kitchenware.

Thanks.

This set doesn't have a 19or 20mm auger bit needed for gate hooks as I'm guessing that's why the op wants a long auger bit.

If op wants to drill for gate hooks, Google, 20mm wood auger bit, there usually 450mm long. See what comes up. Tool pak do supply one. A 19mm will do if that's all you can find.
I'll admit to not checking the sizes in the pack.
I've a set from years ago, can't actually remember what's in it, but definitely one that's a good tight squeeze for gate rides.

i could do with some but wouldnt know where to get them now ....got them off a Scottish chap years ago.....

Tried that last time with an extension on, hard going, bit doesn't clear itself very well in a gummy strainer.

Yes, they have a 25 x 400 or so with a 13mm shank, should do the job.
