I already have a driving license for a tractor, when it comes to my car driving lessons/test will I need to reapply for a provisional license?

If you applied for a provisional license and then took your tractor test you won't need a new license to apply to take a car test in the future. That one license is now yours and whenever you do another test for a different catagory vehicle in the future it will just be added to it. I think you will have to send it off each time for them to add a catagory to it once you have passed a test but the your driving license number will always be the same I believe (might change if you were to change your name for some reason in the future).

Go onto the gov driving licences checker and enter your details. If it says you have cat B provisional you’re good to go.

Years back we had an old boy working for us and he did the tractor test, when he got his licence back it was a full car licence. He never did drive a car though.

Dad's gfw got his license by going to the post office and paying 5 shillings. He had one for all classes. He was an absolute dab hand at manoeuvring anything, watching him reverse a 4 wheel trailer through the eye of a needle was a pleasure to watch.
