Drizzle.

Just had a bit of light drizzle. Never been so delighted.......

But will it do any good to parched crops in the long run ? Better than another day of sun and strong winds ? Clutching at straws ? ?

Better than a day of hot sunshine that is sucking the water out of the plants and ground. The leaf will take some moisture in.

But if it's only a tiny bit of water the seeds might start to germinate and then dry out again.
The maize planted in my fields is lying in dust at the moment, and needs a proper soaking not a tiny wetting.

1.5mm late last night. Enough to wet the yard here. Wasn’t expecting that. Looked like thundery rain clouds over Birmingham yesterday late afternoon.
