marsh89, what exact model of fence charger do you have? I've had some of that problems two months ago, but it was pretty serious and I needed to replace a charger by a new one.

Got some energiser need repairing best place to send them?
Thanks

I've used Oli a couple of times when they need new components on the Board. His prices have crept up a bit recently, but what hasn't...

I have had a few of the cheapie Chinese units from a neighbour and got them going, often just a shoddy seal and moisture ingress. If they don't work then, into the bin they go!

First time, when I've heard about fence chargers and that they've got options to be charged from solar power, I thought that it's not effective way to get energy from. But then I've tried one electric fence charger from Parmak and I understood that it's pretty effective way to change our old chargers to the "green" power, isn't it? It shows the result of up to 25 miles. Pretty nice.

Pop onto eBay and price up some small solar PV panels, cheap and cheerful, and if you size it properly, it will keep the battery charged year round...

What size panel to keep various size batteries keeping a 3.5J fencer going on 600m runs of triple strand?

Something like this...

As the penniless lad from Devon suggests, maybe worth a 40w panel. A bigger panel is useful in the winter months and also if you have a system with lots of vegetation shorting the wires.

Hotline will sell you a fancy box and charger setup, but ooooh is it expensive!
