Looking for recommendations for a electric fence energiser . 12volt and possibly solar powered. Will have to be big enough to power a 10 km total length (5strands x 2km )wire fence . TIA.

12 volt units seem to stop at 3 joules, it might say on the packet that it does 10k with 3 joules, but with five lines you are bound to be losing power in the grass.
Everyone will join in the chorus, attend to the earthing.
What are you keeping in/out
That makes a big difference, with 3 joules you can get 14 days from a battery, having a panel helps boost that, but makes it more visible. Ive got a good stalker if you are in need.Deer out of spuds .!!!! No grass at bottom!!

We have just bought a Voss solar powered thing which is self contained, still got a lead acid battery in it but its small and should last a fair while in the summer.Any light battery that last a while recommended? just had an operation on my arm and its a nightmare lugging big heavy battery’s with one arm!
Rutland units seem to be much longer lasting.Rutland ESB325 (3.2J) or a ESB377 (6 joule) would be the 2 I’d look at first but I’m sure a Speedrite 6000 is big too?
That speedrite looks the same as the Pel406 from kiwikit (but cheaper).Rutland units seem to be much longer lasting.
In my experience, the Speedrite boxes don't seem to be as well made and dont last .. although they are cheaper!
Get a good local stalker to start knocking a few of the deer back. They learn pretty quickly and soon avoid the area..
