Electric gates

The 24 volt systems are safe- you can stop it just by pressing against it with a finger and it wont move at all if anything interrupts the beam sensors.

In the event of a power cut there is a cam type slider in the bottom and then you can open them by hand.

Would not be without them, security is excellent but if the pikes want in they can ram through them- not likely to succeed with the sliding metal gates I have seen, most of those look strong enough to stop an artic.

Surely if it's 24v it works off battery so should last 4 - 5 days until flat opening 50 times. Seen it loads when people get conned into mains systems them have a power cut and can't get in out.

Most 24v systems are mains powered, with a 24v power supply.

Any decent installer would fit a backup battery as standard. Most don’t!
