Electricity from solar panels...?

Hello,

I have a shed, approx 75ft x 45ft, which I would like to get some electricity to.

Is Solar Power a viable option for this?

It would not be in full time use, lighting, some Welding, Grinder, Drill, general workshop use really.

Where would I start?

If you are welding you are going to need some amount of panels and batteries to supply the necessary power, almost certainly not going to be economic. Maybe the lights ran from solar/batteries and a genny for the heavy use stuff?

Welding would be gas rather than electric unless you use a generator.
Grinding and drilling I’d suggest cordless tools, you could charge them with solar.

Unless all your work is between 10 am & 3pm in June - September it will be cheaper & far more reliable to use a genny
