Just had a load of OSR delivered to 2 Agriculture at Chettisham and the return states moisture, oil%, admix and also a Emx figure of 0.7%. never seen this before - good or bad?

Think it may be something to do with free radical production from mustard, so may be a measure of the mustard seed admix? But that may be a load of rubbish, but perhaps somewhere to start your search?

Is it not euricic oil content?
Cross contamination from other seeds etc ? I think the threshold has been lowered from 5 to 2% ? This is off top of my head and could well be wrong but normally some facts mixed up in there !

You are correct it’s a spectrometer looking for oxidation from greens chloryphyl etc

Euricic is done by chromatography I believe but it could be that too I suppose ? It would make sense to start putting it on the weigh tickets

Does this also check for Charlock contamination? Never been aware of this test being done before, but their website says that they are big poultry feed suppliers. Maybe it's for that reason.
