Small crack in 35 four cyl thermostat housing. Not critical yet so thinking about a repair paste. Any suggestions for a paste that stands up to water and metal expansions?

Used "Liquid Steel" (maybe SAS product.), on a cracked engine block. Two syringes side by side, one black paste one white paste, squeeze out and mix. Apply to a clean, dry grease free surface. Never leaked since.
I once tried JB weld but couldnt even get it to stick to the metal. Maybe it was old stock,

It's funny .different experiences here...got it in the bottom case of a gearbox and also on a sump patch on an engine but neither are hot water I suppose...but hot oil instead!certainly some good products out there if you can find the right one for your jo b...

the metal compound you can get from various sources will seal it up ok but it will not stand up to antifreeze, as soon as you install anti freeze it will turn to mush.
