Well the Morrisons and Tesco pay around 1ppl to around 1.5ppl depending on which contract you're on, Nestle is around 2ppl with considerable extra costs involving planting trees, fencing off watercourses, restoring stone walls etc.

so to receive the extra 2p part of that involves restoring stone walls planting trees. Wonder how that works out guess it will be points based some how.

I doubt if Robert Craig would be a FM supplier let alone a FM director if the line to decide who was in and who were not, did not take a very strange detour to get his farm inside the line.
In the early years these producers just had to tick a couple of boxes, now I believe they have to do a good bit more, and FM make quite a bit off the cost of suppling them which is used to cover many of the costs of those not on an aligned contract.

so First Milk make a profit out of the supply and that benefits all members? Is that fact, guess or tale?

When I was an Area rep they did, but you won't get anyone to tell you anything now !!
They won't even answer a question from me about background checks on Directors and Council members.

Im a first milk/nestle producer not aloud to say much about it though as it's breach of contract!you get so much of the extra 2ppl for environmental scheme eg planting trees ect it's based on a points system on how much milk you send and the rest involves a lot of paperwork like costings and carbon footprint.as for choosing the farms sure it was all farms to the east of the m6 motorway could supply nestle?not sure how far east though but i could be wrong on this.so this would involve Robert Craigs farm.

Thanks. I was just intrigued the write up in farmers guardian talks a little about it and says how the GWCT thinks it could be a blue print rolled out across the country, so the GWCT must have the details so why can't the rest of us? like do you have to commit to do so much environmental stuff each year? if you've tto plant so many trees each year how long till you've turned the entire farm into a forest? Or for example once all your walls are restored what do you do then to get points?

Planting trees is on of the many options others are stuff like hedge laying gapping up hedges with new thorns, stone walling, then fencing all the above and fencing of watercourses basically like country side stewardship had new things this year like soil sampling and farm visits from schools. they set your points target on the amount of milk you send luckily in a small producer so not got loads to do.

Not meant to double claim on anything that's on mid tier or something have to send them picture evidence on the work you do before during and after then they say they will randomly check a few farms work.could anyone put the article up on here as i don't get the farmers guardian.
