Been out today with the earth and it's slabbing something terrible at 13/14 ins. At10/11 ins it's not to bad, so do I keep going at 10/11 ins or not? It's been a drought this year again and is still very short of water. I was thinking if this spring is dry will erthing help let the water in the ground if it rains?

Sounds like there is a pan,..Keep going deep i would -.will have a good effect in those dry conditions/Going to wear a bit though .
Hopefully the (big ?) slabs will settle again enough by drilling time and not cause trouble.

To be fair the 'slabs' are about a foot long and the roller flattens the ground well after.
Forgot to say it's in old pasture.

Sounds like it's doing a good job and it needs doing if it's coming up in slabs but it'll leave a better finish if you can reduce the lift a bit.
Have you tried lengthening the top link? Is yours a 3 or 4 leg machine? If you're running 4 legs can you drop down to 3?
