with large dairy farms restocking or adding more cows (us included) , i can see this milk on the scheme being cancelled out in no time
mate talking to dutch farmers yesterday while sourcing heifers , said the mood out there is not good , one company paying 7euros less than the average

I agree on both point Jimmer, all the biggest dairy farms I know of (500 cows plus) are pushing forward not cutting back.
And I'm sure you could find a milk buyer here who is paying 7p less than the average, as I'm sure the difference from best to worse price is at least double that figure.

keep quiet @gone up the hill I am just filling in the forms to claim £50 a lamb and £500 a calf for everyone that isn't produced next year,:)
and you will be ok at they are going to give you £100 a head not to buy store cattle (y)

Grand @Henarar but make it £300 head for the store cattle, I think £60k for doing nothing should just about keep me until next year:whistle:

Imo the dairy industry should not be getting this money to stop reduction as like all other sectors the farmgate price should be left to market forces ( be they good or bad )

I think I said the industry would be better off without them and should prepare for a time when they won't exist at least in there current form.
but I maybe wrong I often am especially in the eyes of the eartag police.

Why should dairy farmers get this cash when it has never been offered to the beef/ sheep industry's in the last two years when their prices have been on the floor like th dairy price was a few weeks ago??

You cant go on about subs should be scrapped when you are at the same time applying for every EU handout going! if you don't agree with subs then fair enough but its a nonsense to be saying on one thread that they should be scrapped when your on another thread proudly saying that you have applied for another EU handout..
