30 thirty thousand people a day die in India, so if a similar proportion to here start dying "of covid" instead of other causes, then numbers "of covid" deaths could go to 15 thousand a day quite easily
Age profile of "normal" deaths obvs massively different in India, as lowland points out, so would have to account for the thousands of children who die every day etc
Seems unlikely given known covid lethality that overall mortality figures will be much affected.
Reporting on deaths in India seems bizarre given we normally don't pay any attention to the thousands of preventable child deaths that occur every day.
But if you need to keep fuelling a fake war a populous country is good at giving headline numbers I guess
Fake war my arse

Typically, healthcare facilities consume about 15% of oxygen supply, leaving the rest for industrial use. But amid India's second wave nearly 90% of the country's oxygen supply - 7,500 metric tonnes daily - is being diverted for medical use, according to Rajesh Bhushan, a senior health official.

It really isn’t that simple they probably all need an oxygen tank on their backs everyday.

I really don't understand why some people want to trivialise the situation by making comparisons to deaths that occur normally, we don't do that during any other crisis / disaster. Seems odd.

In the same way I really don't understand why some people want to dramatize the situation by pretending that deaths don't occur normally, we didn't do that before this 'crisis' / 'disaster'. That seems odd to me. 🤷‍♂️

If you're saying the scene's coming from Indian hospitals are being dramatised then you need to provide some evidence to back that up.

Thats not happening in India though is it ? You refer to the annoying habit of announcing deaths on BBC or whatever per day ?
I just ignore it because it soon becomess apparent that here things have returned to a near normallity death wise ,but its not the case over in India

All cause deaths have been within normal here every month apart from April 20, when over reacting to a harmless virus combined with previous recent absence of respiratory virus to cause some deaths amongst old people.

After witnessing what has happened in this country, and the the dramatization of it by the government, the media, all those who swallowed the propaganda and all those who have bent to peer pressure from social media, I've no intention of following the blatantly biased media interpretation of the progress of c19 around the world, as I see it as no more than a desperate attempt to prolong the story and also perhaps to re-vitalise and rally the troops in the fake war.

Anybody pretending that all of a sudden they passionately care about the plight of people in impoverished nations, just because of a covid19 story on BBC news needs to think a little harder IMHO.

Why do you keep harping on about it ? I dont imagine there are many Covid deaths much , now after the vaccination prog.
But you completely ignore Indias situation ,apart from one of 2 of you giving us the benefit of country comparisons with health ,living conditions !

This is the reason India has a problem its people were struggling to breathe before Covid this just speeds things on a bit. Just like it has with the old and unhealthy in the West. Listen to the bit about newborns becoming smokers on day one.The hysteria about new variants affecting the young etc fail to take into account how unhealthy the young are not because of too many burgers etc but from living in miserable conditions. What is the West going to do.... well that is obvious turn its back and close its doors in fear.

I don't see your problem? I'm not following the mainstream media, I mistrust it. This thread isn't the mainstream media. I post on here sometimes because I enjoy discussions and like to read and challenge opinions that differ from my own.

Out of interest why do you post on this thread?

I'm talking about before the vaccination program

The India discussion started after a link to a BBC article was posted by PP.

I post on here because I find it interesting.

Or use deaths of Indians to continue to justify restrictions over here..." Look everyone it's still a really scary virus"
People fall for this nonsense because they want to, it's the only reasonable conclusion, they're crying out to continue this fake war.
"Oh look, cases in Brazil falling, let's move on to an even bigger country, with bigger numbers"
"We can have a triple mutant, turbo-charged variant killing anyone we like, those Indians can't count properly at the best of times, gives us license to make anything up!"

I don’t doubt that it’s bad in India but there are so many factors that are causing it to be bad that probably cannot be translated to Europe. It probably cannot be contained in India so it will probably take its natural course which is a big peak as it takes out vulnerable people then down. Sounds horrible but they don’t have the resources to drag it out like it has been in Europe.

It may be that some people who would have died in months June-december are going to die in April/may.
It may also be that more people survived the previous year than normal and are dying now.
This would be consistent with what happened here.
If India's asmr this year will confirm or repudiate this.
Given the age/illness profile of the "covid"deaths I would agree that the word "bad" would be better attributed to the constant stream of preventable child deaths there.
