Also. Wherever possible, tractors and telehandlers are having the commodity code changed and being exported as construction equipment.
it's only agricultural machinery that needs the certificate.
you know. Because construction gear never comes in to contact with the soil 🙄🙄

Didnt know that, its just that I was in touch with adam hewitt and they are not assisting in the sanitary certs etc.. if the commodity codes are altered will it not pose a problem with registering them further down the line?

I've no idea about the registering bit.
I'm not surprised about the ever helpful Adam Hewitt though

Thanks for replies.. I have tried getting an answer from euro auctions and no joy?? Am advise that one is necessary but had a look at the VRT recommendation and not required. Its just for customs between UK and the EU from what I understand. Not many of the dealers in the UK want to do it because tractors need to be cleaned and then inspected before cert issued!! and it costs a few hundred.. Haulers will not touch them with out this cert as they will get held up in customs etc..

Where is the machine going?

There's a lot of hearsay and rumours on this subject.
those that are actually doing it on a daily basis and know what they're doing aren't finding any problems and it's all straightforward.
Richard Rainthorpe didn’t have a problem when I asked about bringing a tractor to France for me. He said it isn’t necessary to have one and seeing as it would be his lorry that would be sat at customs I guess he would know.

Yes DarC you are correct to try and follow proper procedure as expensive kit is usually being handled here. it appears that there are loop holes here like in most things.. I know there are UK dealers following correct procedure and supplying certs but yes it adds to the cost etc.. Hauliers/customs agents might also be of help etc..
