As the title says really, anyone ever came across this before?

They seem to do it after they have had meal fed, some do it more than others, was wondering if they were maybe deficient in something?

Any thoughts appreciated thanks.

Put some rock salt or minerals in with them.

Our cows sometimes lick pee off the floor. Obviously caused by some sort of deficiency but as soon as they get access to rock salt they stop. Strangely they haven't done it this year.

did you put anything on the pillar? see they have licked as high as they can, did you white wash with lime? stick in a normal sheep lick and a high mag sheep lick and see which goes first.

No nothing on the steel other than the paint it came in, no lime whitewash or anything either.

Why do you suggest the lick buckets?

I think they are trying to get out. Sheep should be outside !:whistle:

How do people make money out of sheep that are housed !?! :scratchhead:

I will put my tin hat back on.:)

Blackies in a house:unsure: surely not:scratchhead:

They are inside for handiness really and it gives a field a break over the winter, they will be sent to the hill as soon as the house is needed at lambing time.

As regards making money from them well I gave up on that years ago!!!
