I assume that you're having the same problem as us. Two foot thick farmhouse walls and WiFi are a match made in hell.

The best solution is to buy another router. It doesn't have to have a built in ADSL modem as your current router will have one. A reasonable one shouldn't cost any more than £25.
You'll also need a long enough 'Ethernet' cable to get from your current router to wherever you're going to set up your new router.

Something like this should be ideal: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wireless-...der-Network-/262051067493?hash=item3d0375f665
If you can find a wifi signal booster that's made by the same company as your router, then even better, as compatibility will likely be stronger. You don't need to move your existing router then. Just put this device halfway between the router and the furthest point away from it that you need to access wifi.

Are you using combination router modem?
Do not use a telephone wire extension it is always best to have your modem plugged into the main socket and disconnect any other telephone wires.
If you have a separate router you can connect it via an ethernet cable and put it anywhere you like in the house.
I have a BT hub 5 , the first one needed replacing after the WI FI gave up , the second would not support air printing, I gave up on this and bought a separate router
This Lynksis router was supposed to have double the Wi Fi range of my BT hub 5. it is good in the house but does not cover the patio which I had hoped for.
does have 5G which is better.
