Fed up with putting tar or mainly gimmers with flies on there wounds. I never even thought too many at all were cut a clipping time but some are getting worse. Thinking about bringing a couple inside to try and get them over it. Got some yellow fly cream of the vet to put round the bad bits but not sure how well it will work. Any other things i could try? We use swish on cattle but not sure how well that works either. Should i also give antibiotics? Cheers for looking.

As @andybk says above , Dysect is a great product.

I turn my ewe hoggs on to a tick ridden green hill in May. Do them with Dysect at the time. When I bring them in to shear at the end of June/beginning July their skins are as clean as a whistle - no tick , no flies , no maggots. They were lovely to shear. Without Dysect they would be covered in tick at the very least.

Since you've already got Crovect , get stuck in with that. (y)

So the bits on there necks which are red, a bit bloody and sore if i put crovect along there back it should keep the flies of them? I did do a few of the worse ones with click to prevent them getting maggots but it done nothing to stop the flies going for them. Bloody going to Canada on Monday so needing them better by then... i hope.

pour on is going to be useless not eneff coverage better jetting with an OP or SP

op doesnt repel , and SP is banned in europe , except in pour on , we used to drizzle sp over the rams heads in a pen with a stirup pump in hot weather and it worked well for a week or so , but we cant get it anymore

we used to stirup pump a line down backs and around arse for fly control here on short coated shorn ewes and used to last 8 weeks , last time we did it , had maggot where spray was applied within 3 weeks .
