I remember it well, glad I am not responsible for the other halfās few pets.My 90 acres of wheat (which isnāt much I know) hasnāt had itās first dose of nitrogen yet as weāve been lambing and I just havenāt the time to get on with it.
I'll be happy if I never drive an ag vehicle bigger than a quad ever again.Just for balance - I haven't been near a tractor in months....
Thank fvck for sheep!!
well put & thats the trouble with animals basically they can take far more of your time up than anything Arable can.We had sheep. We still have arable. The sheep work itself is OK if thatās all you have to do. You can focus on it and do it well and right. Itās when a ewe struggling to lamb clashes with the only afternoon of the week when you could get the T1 on 50 acres that they become quite an aggravation. You can get a huge amount of arable work done in the time you can spend clatting about with one sheep. Yes I know we should just let them get on with it, but it never seems to be that simple.
Why doesnt she post anymore?Just before lambing started we were moving some ewes and the Mrs uttered āI f**king hate sheepā whether she likes it or not sheās an absolutely brilliant shepherd, like calf feeding sheās a natural.
Itās a bit like milking cows every day,not everyone can do it,I find it very rewarding,I started with sheep at 13 years old and Iām sure my kids will do the same.
I look back on my life and see loads of mistakes , selling the sheep was not one of them , sorry if that makes you feel worse , but I feel your painRant over,
