Farmer Roy's Random Thoughts - I never said it was easy.

It continues to this day.
If only the government had stopped flights last March instead of tomorrow morning...
when donald trump stopped flights from china to the usa the upraor from the liberals was deafening
the only thing trump was right on was shutting the border

but even he was too late

to be effective the ban on travel would have have to be mid jan at the latest

but it would have only reduced the first wave

the history of pandemics is that they come in waves the only way to stop them is immunity

only needs one case in an unlocked region for it to explode
even in australia it took a 4 month lock down to control it

in normal times over a million people a week arrive in the uk stopping that quick enough is impossible

the uk doesnot have enough police to police a full lockdown 100%
90% is not enough to stop with out a 4 month lockdown

All true and all reasons why the big one, when it comes, will collapse us.

Covid 19 is NOT the big one the epidemiologists have been warning about for decades, it's mortality is not nearly high enough. The new British variant probably fits the description for transmissability though.

What's the story behind this long life milk in Australia?
Sounds like it could be a game changer??
That is truly fascinating!

Another step towards globalisation of the milk industry.:nailbiting::unsure:

A bittersweet day today watching the old Liebherr go to her, probably final, new home. I only wish all my machinery purchases were as good!

Bought around 1997 for £3100
Done over £20,000 worth of work with her since at a cost of around 800 gallons of diesel, 3 hydraulic hoses, an exhaust manifold and a broken window in the door.
Sold this week for £6500

She was a cracking digger and hope it does its new owner well
you 3cx is also cracking machine and you know that’s got a home here if you sell it

Yes,here also.

Blocked culvert under a road flooding one of our fields.
I thought you'd be getting more than us.
All roads into nearest village are closed, main roads closing now.
At my old place there is a stream in a deep cut, in the last 50 years I have seen water over the road twice today is the third time!

Meanwhile , we will get one day under 36° for the next week......
It's about this time of year when I jet off for a bit of your sunshine and have been thinking about it a bit lately. Could just do with a bit of warmth and sunshine but having said that I honestly wouldn't want to swap.

I am living in a static still as my house slowly gets done up. Plasterers finally finished today, few days drying and the painters can finish off. Then just the fitting out to do, slow job due to covid and everywhere shut but ticking along slowly.

Really looking forward to having the fire lit and sitting in a nice warm house. For now I am very grateful that I am in my own place and don't need wellies indoors, there are quite a few that can't say that right now.

I can hear the tractors on the slurry pumps even now (10:10 pm) and they are pumping floods not slurry, must be a mile or so away from here. Local village has flooded badly in places, teachers are having to spend the night at the school as roads home are closed/flooded. Tractors out dragging stranded cars etc. A bit of a mess out there.
