Bit like that is it? We have actually had a pretty dry few days, I could drive the car anywhere I wanted to go (but wouldn't)Looking at the remains of yesterdays rain, wondering if one can get the tractor out of the paddock and if any cattle swam into the next paddock.....
Hmmm my least favorite job of alland it must be every other baßtards least favorite as well cos not one single prìck came to give me a handWhat's everyone up to today?
Nothing to read on here of any relevance, so I feel bound to ask this question
I am in the throes of fencing my paddocks into breaks for the hoggets coming tomorrow nice and still, can hear the sea thumping but a bit dirty to go for a dive

Ah but they print "Rapeseed Oil" on the bottlesHow childish!
In fairness, I’ve never even heard the whole “rape or canola” thing being raised as an issue in the UK. Surprising given the PC/terminally offended times we live in! Only a matter of time I’m sure as those who make a living out of finding offence where there is none work their way towards it. Offence is subjective, so perhaps the British just aren’t as easily offended?!?!?! It’s all marketed as vegetable oil anyway so rape is really just an industry term. “Rape Oil” May be a tricky sell?!
Hmmm not quite yet although I decided they can all get stuffed and I'm not milking tonight I've started on the double Jack's whilst I do the finishPatio for break time?
Table and chairs on there.....lovely.
The very definition of a proper "mate" as against a "friend": they quietly turn up to help you with the things nobody enjoys doing.Looks good I am often surprised just how well folk keep clear, when a hand would be good
Right. Pondered your posts for a few minutes - how long does this stuff take to flower, obviously flowers are but brittle pods and dropped seed is
I am looking at around 90 days from sowing to putting the mower on... what are your thoughts?
Try some anyway?
Only be a dribble, I have made kale silage for a client once
barstewards will hear those Jacks popping better than they heard your concrete mixer .Hmmm not quite yet although I decided they can all get stuffed and I'm not milking tonight I've started on the double Jack's whilst I do the finish
That's where electric propulsion and home generated carbon friendly electricity should come in. There's a UK company producing good viable electric quad bikes now but viable electric tractors are still a way off yet (especially at our sort of price)Sounds really interesting Agrispeed
We undertaken have similar trials here, quite surprising when you take into account a quite small amount of vehicle usage can have such a dramatic effect on the footprint of a business, and can undo so much of the good work our soils are doing for us; it's part of our plan to eliminate as much fuel consumption as possible as a result of these findings.
Certainly the idea of putting a machine between the plant and the mouth is a very questionable method of producing meat and milk from an environmental and economic point of view.
Just worried the longer I take and the more I sink, the stranger this concret might turn outbarstewards will hear those Jacks popping better than they heard your concrete mixer .
No, I will likely cover crop 3 or 4 paddocks (at this stage) and maybe shut up some grass, and clamp the lot so no worries about stalks - or wetness, really, as it will get a couple of days wilt before the chopper comes.Never heard of it being ensiled but I suppose anything is possible. My concern would be that you wouldn’t get it dry enough and it’d make wet, shitty silage. I don’t know if you’re baling it? If so, I’d also worry that the thick stalks would be a nightmare to wrap. You’d need a spring variety and time it right for flowing in 3 months. No harm in trying it!
It will help puzzle future archaeologists if there is an imprint of a male homo sapiens in the concreteJust worried the longer I take and the more I sink, the stranger this concret might turn out
I've been spitting JD saliva onto the surface to help the trowelso that will have them scratching their foreheadsIt will help puzzle future archaeologists if there is an imprint of a male homo sapiens in the concrete
I put bits of meteorite into the concrete at Mum's for that reason
Carbon-date that
Something like 125mm in 24 hours.....Bit like that is it? We have actually had a pretty dry few days, I could drive the car anywhere I wanted to go (but wouldn't)
