After a frosty start cloud will spread into the north and west with rain into western Scotland and northern Ireland, turning windy here too with the risk of gales. Staying dry for much of England and Wales, best of the sunshine in the southeast. Highs of 10C/50F

Wednesday 19-3

High pressure but weather front lying through Wales and into the Midlands and northern England. The rain could be heavy in places. Southern areas are likely to be drier, although some drizzle and patchy rain over western parts of Cornwall and Devon. Highs of 14C/57F cooler further north.

Thursday 20-3

Still a lot of uncertainty if the weather front will be affecting the far south of England with further periods of rain here. as colder air digs in the rain may turn wintry in places. A high of just 4C/39F
