Are they going down the pan? Had a phone call out of the blue on 1st April - offered a years subscription for £x and there`d be a £20 M and S voucher to come, which may take 28 days. Still not here(the voucher!) - phoned them today (beginning to feel conned!!) and was told the voucher was sent by email on 19th April but may take up to 28 working days to arrive.....
There was me thinking the Royal Mail was slow!! All this cr*p from them about VIP membership, reward points, etc, etc..... I only want a good farming news read at a good price:mad:.
They won`t be seeing any more of my cash!

FG was great when it was a proper full size newspaper as you could use the pile of old papers to light the fire in winter. Then it went tabloid... then it went magazine. I expect it will be an A5 booklet next. Also, it became bloody expensive when there's so many free papers paid for by advertising, and it isn't even as entertaining as the likes of Classic Tractor, which is a true pleasure. About the only thing FG has left is it usually has the farm sales advertised around here which some of the other papers don't.

As above , as a sweeping overview, British ag press is shoit, and nearly always with an agenda!
The Irish Farmers Journal is a great read on the other hand . It always seems farmer led , and orientated .

Aye, the good old days when FG would arrive on the kitchen table and would be split in half for me and dad then swap over at half time

Used to have both FW and FG, dumped FW a year or two back and have kept on with FG as the lesser of two evils.............for now

Same here. Tbh the Guardian only comes now because I’ve forgotten to cancel the subscription in time for the last 2 years. Probably 1 in 4 doesn’t even get unwrapped.

Similar here but as a cash buyer 1 in 4 doesn’t get bought.
I did take a years subscription to FW but FG would only offer a direct debit on going which I declined.

Old thread I know but the end of a Friday tradition for me. Not that it usually comes on Friday nowadays.

Looked forward to sitting down on a Friday night with this for the last probably 25 years. Not anymore, subscription cancelled. The internet has won.
