Farming Online Email Help please.

I have a Farming Online email address. I have had it from when I first ventured online and am loathe to give it up as some many people have the contact details.
It’s never been the best of providers and seems to have its own idiosyncracies which can prove very frustrating. I know I am not alone in that. Getting help or support from FoL is proving very difficult ...... but they seem to manage to remember to send the annual invoice.
I appear to have suddenly lost records of my sent email from my main desk top machine. Instead of a history going back years which was always there it now seems confined, suddenly, to my last 50 emails sent. Can anyone help me with ideas of how to recover the lost data ....... it’s pretty important.

TIA

Goodness me, FOL, I'm surprised it's still running. I used it with dial-up and emails then were Pop3 only and I used Outlook Express. Everyone should really use IMAP now, especially if they have several devices using the same email.

As for lost emails, I'd check all your email client [assuming you use one] settings, in case they are just hidden. I suppose the same applies for web-based email?

Looking at the settings it would appear I'm using pop3. Whats IMAP and whats the difference?
The difference that concerns most users is that with POP3 you need to delete the same email off every device individually. With IMAP it synchronises all devices. Since I use a phone, tablet and a desktop computer and have dozens of emails every day, IMAP is a massive help in organising emails.

Access id via Apple Mail
Use your Apple email to send, along with your 'new' email address, a note for all future correspondence to be made to your new Apple address. Keep the two accounts going to catch the stragglers, but try and migrate all your contacts to using your apple.com or me.com email address. It is very simple to open a new email account in Mail, whether Apples own or a Gmail or Outlook. Outlook is a bit more faff because, I suspect, Apple don't really want you to use a Microsoft account. It occasionally asks you to re-enter your password for the account for no good reason.

Currently I have over 30,000 emails in four email accounts. Two Apple [one I never use]. One Outlook and one Gmail. Only recently deleted a Tiscali account which I migrated to Apple Mail from before buying an Apple device and which has been dead for years. That was a pop3 account.

With IMAP they don't even have to be all Apple machines. They synchronise the same email accounts across platforms and mail clients. So you could use Gmail or Outlook on an Android device and all your emails to a specific shared address would be synchronised between all.

I remember a Mr Bourne who milked a lot of cows. There was Usenet before FOL with characters like Oz, Jim Webster, Torsten Brinch and Archimedes Plutonium. I wonder where they all are now?
UKBA eh, those were the days. I know that JW is still about on the BFF Facebook page sometimes. Pat Gardener? It was all a conspiracy!!! I think Steve R used to frequent there.
