Farming tasks: How do you register your calves?

@Chum Yes you can. You can do it in two ways,

1. If the animals are already in your Herd and you want to connect the calves to the cows. Just go onto the calve, edit it and select the correct dam.
2. If the calve is not in your herd then you will have to create the calf. The steps to do this are:
  • Tap the orange plus button
  • Tap do something else
  • Tap new animal/bull/calf
  • Tap born on farm
  • Create the calf using the correct details and set it as moved out.
You will then see that calf in the cows progeny list.

Just writing all calving info in my pocket diary , then transfer to a ledger book on the desk at night. Claim calves via bcms on line every week or so . Like the idea of putting the info into the phone out in the field. Then let the internet pixies do their thing !

@Bill dog You can do all that in Herdwatch app that is already live in the UK market. We really hate to hear about people duplicating records. You can literally register the calf birth as you tag the calf. The app works offline too so you can record even if you don't have any internet at the time. (y)
