Farming Today Radio 4 Weds 8 May

I heard that piece on yesterday morning. So much of the programme has little to do with commercial farming it was a pleasant surprise to hear of your offer.

I hope you get a few replies; were I a few decades younger I would even have been interested myself!

If I was 30 years younger I would have been very interested but probably wouldn't have had the finance available then. I hope you get someone as it sounds a great opportunity. (y)

Thanks, if you know any suitable candidates please pass the word on.

I wouldn't know anyone, but having seen your farm (just as a nosy tourist :) ) I would have thought there would be plenty of interest. Put a post in the Dairy section outlining the opportunity maybe ?

Looking for someone to come into the business as I have turned 70, trying to wind down a bit. We are on 550 ac, arable, dairy, digester, cheesemaking, all tightly integrated

Last night saw us drinking Moon Gazer in the Carpenters Arms beer garden, with your lovely Brown Swiss the other side of the fence. There's worse ways to spend an evening. How are you getting on with the succession planning ?

We were in France or else would have welcomed you. We are preparing an ad for FW, FG and elsewhere. Have had a few applications but no one with suitable engineering skills to look after the digester or food manufacturing skills to look after the cheese.

I would have though the FW or FG would have been interested in actually doing an article on your situation They are usually up for an interesting angle on something. Unfortunately, I think it's a problem in many business sectors nowadays, where a high capital input is required for relatively fixed returns.

The article was in FW last week, the adverts in both this week.
