In a world of scepticism and cynicism it is virtually impossible to reflect trust and honesty via social media so all we can rely on is customer experiences and us trying to do our best to help. Cheers to all

Hi everyone, if you are an existing Farmplan customer who is due to upgrade to Herdwatch, we offer numerous benefits for sheep and cattle farmers, including:
  • Specialist functionality to ease the burden of data entry for sheep, cattle and dairy farmers and put the recording of tasks to hand wherever and whenever.
  • Herdwatch is an easy-to-use, cloud-based solution that can be used by multiple users, to access multiple holdings, on multiple devices, making it the perfect solution for Farmplan sheep and cattle software customers.
  • Compliance compatibility with all current legislation requirements, with full integration for calf registrations and animal movements with BCMS, ScotEID & APHIS.
  • You can also simplify your record keeping for all Cross Compliance and Farm Assurance (i.e. Red Tractor) schemes in Herdwatch.
  • Device integration and compatibility with EID tags and readers.
From today, you can begin to upgrade to the Herdwatch program for free until the end of your current Farmplan support agreement after which, you will pay the same amount or less than you pay Farmplan today for the first 12 months with Herdwatch.
If your support agreement is not up for another few months with Farmplan, you don't need to do anything today and we will be in touch to help 'moove' you over in the next few months. However, if you do want to start the migration across today, feel free to give us a shout.
If you have any questions, we have a dedicated migrations team for Farmplan customers that can be contacted on 01594 480157 (9am-5pm Mon-Fri) or email [email protected] for help to get started on Herdwatch.

Can you 'moove' existing cattle manager data into herdwatch?

No sorry but always happy to chat anytime any day. I know I have over egg d the pudding somewhat with my support offering but really it’s what I do … speak to farmers all day every day about every conceivable issue from compliance inspections to the wife’s run off with the computer !!! Ha ha ! So to all Farmplan users out there I am just an alternative to the latest Herdwatch migration. Please note that I think Herdwatch is an excellent modern approach to the farming world and I am sure many will embrace with excitement. We may be seen as old fashioned but for some that still fits the bill 🤔 anyone is welcome to call me anytime 07966212898

We have a number of different plan options depending on what you need from Herdwatch and you might not need our highest plans. As mentioned, you can try our the Herdwatch program for free until the end of your current Farmplan support agreement after which, you will pay the same amount or less than you pay Farmplan today for the first 12 months with Herdwatch. You'll know by then just why Herdwatch is trusted by over 18,000 farmers in the UK & Ireland... We will also be at North Sheep next week if you would like to pop by for a chat we would love to speak to you in person!

This would explain why I got a poor response from farm plan when I was quizzing them about developing their system.

So we have moved to farm matters from a different provider.
Yes it's different,
There are a few things I miss from old provider, (mostly down to familiarity as was with them for 20 years)

On the whole farm matters is allowing me to do more with my data, and I keep pushing for more, to improve it for everyone.
They have already implemented some of what I have said, and I hope they will be onto other ideas soon.

Just me trying to remember how to do stuff, as we still have our old system for a bit for database as we are a breeding herd.
All in all Neil was very helpful not pushy, of course he wanted us to be a customer but he left it up to me.
And they worked hard to crack the system to be able to import from our old provider as they had never done our old provider before.

That's exactly what i thought about my suggestions. Makes me think they had lost heart in it and were just looking for a way to capture some value from the customer list.

Hi everyone… I guess this will be seen as a sales pitch ! But since we never advertise and I offer my advice for free then take it as you wish. We can import Farmplan cattle manager data into our trial for anyone wanting to try an alternative. We have been supplying software to farmers for 27 years now and pride ourselves on customer support and impartial advice so without any obligation or hassle by all means get in touch. I am always happy to help. Farmmatters is a PC based Windows program with a web app as a companion for outside data capture. You can download the trial for free and import your Cattle Manager data so that your trial is authentic and live. Zero sales pitch zero hassle and just normal free experienced support anytime. All the best Neil

Hi Neil, couple of questions. As its windows based do you know if it works well on a Mac running Windows over parallels? The previous Cattle manager iteration worked faultlessly. Their last upgrade not at all well :(
Secondly you talk about a "web based app" for outside use. Does that mean that it will only work when you have a data connection on the mobile? Its a bit of an issue inside some of the livestock sheds where the phone cannot pick up a data signal.

Yes it does need connection to' the net' comes through the browser. it wont work 'offline' and its not that much use for sheep either imo. good useful options for Cattle though.
