Arc welder seems to have developed fault. It’s turned into what I can only describe as a cheap sparkler.

Is it ready for the bin ? Or can it be simple cheap fix ??

it’s a thermalarc 175se 5y old little use

what were the symptoms before it caput ? trouble is if it couldnt cope with much of a voltage variation, a genny or long or small wired exstension lead can ruin them.

if i buy one these days thats the first thing i look for,is 'generator friendly.

It was taking out fuses every 30 seconds then seemed fine welding at home and off over past 2 months with a strengthened fuse 🙈. Now just turns into sparkler when you make contact. When fuses were going I was trying to run off 2 extension leads. 😜 I’m guessing I’m to blame. 😂

i suggested it because i did that with a very early inverter made / put together by Butters, i was vexed as it was a brilliant little thing compared to the old pickhill, that was getting on for 20 yrs ago now mind.

We've got a couple of Jasic ones and have no complaints. Personal preference is for the parweld machine as I think it has a smoother arc.
