If you google up The Orvis Cattle Co from Farmington California there is a bit of the backstory to the movie,
the opening sequence you highlighted where they removed the fence and created the dirt track while filming the shot alongside from the roadway.............interesting to see the then and now pics.

Thank you Roger, that’s interesting to read, the difference in some of the images just due to the sun shining on the hills at different times of day is amazing, I guess that’s the type of thing that contributes to film makers taking ages to film a short sequence (as commented on another TFF thread).

I’ve not been to Northern California yet but seeing this has moved it up my list of places I want to see.
