You have been pointed to the stats several times. Want me to do so again ?

No need, it was BS every time before too.

This isn't the thread for that though, we should be celebrating for our European cousins, whilst noting that, for just about the first time, their victory from protesting wont have any benefit for us now we're outside the EU.

However, a demand to reduce nitrogen, methane and other emissions linked to farming by almost a third has been removed.

Yeah, I read that, hence the original question I asked:

Have the farmers successfully explained to the politicians that enteric methane makes no contribution to climate change ? Or have they achieved this climb-down just to keep the farmers quiet, and the politicians still believe that enteric methane causes climate change ?

We get a tax rebate on the price of GNR we pay. The French government were going to stop the rebate. This has been reversed.

The French government have immediately stopped the import of produce sprayed with Thiacloprid,a neonnic banned in France.

€150 million extra to livestock farmers.

They will implement "Food Sovereignty" , not importing goods that are produced using methods and products illegal here.

The French government will raise the inheritance tax threshold due on farms passed to the next generation.

Government Subsidised loans for young farmers installing.

The EU have stopped the implementation of the banning of 32 Pesticides, which are used elsewhere.

It's a start.👍
Got to love the French

It's a damned sight more relevant than all the living in the past Brexit bollox that continues to be spouted on here.

the latter.....even if you could succeed arguing the former ...to a politician it would mean little because their first job is to stay in power....they have to bow to popular opinion

they can make 'arguements/policy' based on what they think is best....but if it can't be 'sold' they have to move on...that is politics

Which laws don't they have which we do? I am sure it will be illegal in all the protesting countries to drive a tractor on a motorway, but they did it anyway. Blocking the motorway with half ton bales, tipping soil and spreading it. They may have some right to protest but it's not without limits.
Meanwhile over here, can't protest with a 250,000 grand tractor, which diesel to use, what to put on the banner etc.
I'm not sure on the exact law of driving on motorways with a tractor in France, but there were hundreds doing it, the police did "interview" around 100 farmers from the blockage outside Paris, what for I don't know but they were opening up lorries by force to check what was in them and several clips I saw they were chucking stuff out.
The right to protest is strongly defended in France and as long as violence against people or property isn't used is allowed, being in France currently I saw the huge amounts of tyres, muck, bales etc etc
dumped on the motorway, nothing was done about it.
As I've said the situation and circumstances in France at least are very different to here, the easiest way for us to bring the UK government to heal is by stopping supply of our products, UK farmers are too selfish to dump milk etc and the NFU are too weak to organise it.

You can't drive a tractor on a dual carriageway here*, let alone a motorway or peage.
* Not including overtaking lanes on predominantly single carriageway routes.

Plenty doing it though last couple of weeks, police turning a blind eye, did they charge any of the 100 they arrested on the outskirts of Paris ?

Macron told them it's your right to protest but not to go into Airports or Rungis! They arrested over 100 for breaking into Rungis.
The world's largest fresh produce market, just south of Paris, feeds 18 million people and has an annual turnover of €10,299 million.

You think they're going to use a Citroen van to blockade with?
