Will they go back up as a result of the Paris summit? Many of us missed out in this part of the country due to the govt change of policy plus a lack of grid capacity.

If they do go up so will the price of the panels etc.

I could buy almost 2, 50kw arrays of panels for what I paid for 10kw back in the day but I am getting a bit more than the current price for the FIT.

I thought that it was always raining where you live anyway? Solar panels wouldn't be too good.

Thing is you got to have money and convictions to act fast when these opputunities come along .
Its like the train coming if you miss it -its gone ?

Very true. We've had a look at hydro and have a good location etc having checked it out. Stumbling block was the FIL who has no vision or foresight. This was 15 months ago. Would still like to do it but with the FITs coming down it will take the gloss off it.

And lots in this neck of the woods don't want that infrastructure put in, not in their back yard anyway. We were canvassed on it within days of moving in.
That's understandable I suppose though I will point out that the objections to the new power line through the Severn valley have cost me a small fortune in ground rent for wind turbines. The income from the proposed Nantymoch wind farm would have made a huge difference to the viability of this farm and may also have provided us with a small amount of spare income that could have funded our own smaller scale renewable project.

I find it quite ironic that we are surrounded by people that think they are educated and like to think they are 'green', yet consider the essential infrastructure for such projects a blight on the landscape and won't turn their lights/computers/tv's off. Several of our local campaigners are trying to get a community solar pv scheme going, but that's different of course.
