What about something like a concrete groover that takes 1 or 2 inches off the whole level. Or build it up with 2 inches of strong ready mix?

Not to big an area problem is its on a slope so would a self leveling screed not run? If i was to use another skim of mortar worried it would come off again. Considering polypropylene sheets, nice shiny clean surface to eat on.

Good job that, chap at the dairy event was selling an epoxy resin type floor can't remember how much but I nearly fainted when he said how much!

You can get epoxy floor paint off ebay. We had a client do his own for about 1/10th the cost of some of the companies doing this specifically for feed troughs.

Need to get concrete spotless and treat with some kind of acid. Smells horrid for a few days afterwards. Trough will be out of use for a couple of weeks. It does need to be quite smooth, so maybe skim first and then epoxy on new smooth surface to protect it?
