Feeding ewes or lambs when no grass

Running out of grass here, no rain forecasted.
Will need to start feeding sheep?‍♂️.
Lambs born around beginning of march.
Will i be better feeding lambs in the creep feeder or ewes and lambs at troughs?
My thinking lambs be better to feed at this stage, but ewes do need food too so unsure which way to go.

Cut out the 'middle man' and creep feed the lambs.

If they've not had any before, they won't know what to do with it so start by feeding everything in troughs so their mothers show them what to do, then switch to creeps.

If you're still short of grass by then, consider weaning them early.

I had 2t of corn left over so mine are on oats with a splash of barley.
Even with the ladders closed down so that the lambs could barely fit their heads in the ewes could still stick their noses in so I did this.

Works better than nothing but the ewes are still eating a bit as they push it inwards.

to start the lambs, put it near water, a corner and leave them to it? Mine have been on it for 3-4 weeks now and are March born. Started off slow, very slow, now their going through it though!

Thanks for that.

How many lambs have you feeding from that feeder?

I would buy the minimum quantity of beef nuts (4t ?) and feed them through a snack feeder. (Beef nuts are cheaper than ewe nuts and their higher copper levels won't do any harm for even susceptible ewes at grass (or at soil?)

And store them safely so that any left over will stay fresh for next Autumn/Winter.

And I was thinking that the Shamrock was only found in Ireland.
